Description
This project was meant to research musical patterns outside of a traditional aesthetic, which nonetheless would offer an easy access for all kinds of listeners (especially to some simple methods for anyone to create worthwhile electronic music with everday items). I recorded different sounds made with stones, papers and scissors, aiming to use a great variety of playing techniques and combinations. Based on these recordings I tried to create a unique world of sound through several ways of electronic manipulation. Rhythmically the piece is based on an algorithm inspired by the proportions of the game stone-paper-scissor and its possible progressions. These rhythms could not be played by a human player, and the resulting music has obvious similarities to every-day-sounds, might even change the perception of these, yet is impossible outside of the digital world.
